Description
HM-2136-3H: Heavy-Duty Emergency Conversion Module for T5 & T8 Fluorescent Lights
While modern spaces transition to LED, millions of existing facilities still rely on the proven reliability of linear fluorescent lamps. The HM-2136-3H bridges the gap between legacy infrastructure and strict modern safety codes. It allows building managers to upgrade existing T5 and T8 fluorescent fixtures into fully compliant emergency luminaires without replacing the entire housing or layout.
Features
- Tailored for Traditional Fluorescent Tubes: Completely compatible with classic gas-discharge linear tubes, working seamlessly alongside existing electronic or magnetic ballasts.
- Extensive Tube Wattage Support: T5 Tubes: Supports 13W, 14W, 21W, 35W, and high-output 54W variants.
T8 Tubes: Supports standard 18W, 36W, and 58W industrial lengths.
- Robust Iron Casing: The main inverter module is shielded in a highly durable, compact iron housing, offering superior impact protection and heat resistance over plastic alternatives.
- External Battery Setup for Easy Maintenance:The Ni-CD 6V 3000mAh battery pack sits outside the main inverter casing. When the battery eventually reaches the end of its cycle life, it can be unplugged and replaced in seconds without disconnecting the inverter wiring.
- 3-Hour Emergency Execution: Delivers a full 180 minutes of uninterrupted power to the tube during unexpected grid failure, significantly exceeding the minimum 90-minute standard required by global safety regulations.

HM-2136-3H Emergency Ballst RFQ:
Q1: Can this emergency kit be used with modern LED tubes?
A: The HM-2136-3H is specifically engineered with high-voltage strike and ballast-compatible circuitry designed for traditional gas-filled fluorescent tubes (T5 and T8). If you have completely retrofitted your fixtures to direct-wire LED tubes, we recommend choosing one of our LED-specific drivers like the FAT or SDE series instead.
Q2: Why does this model feature an iron casing and an external battery?
A: Industrial retrofits demand extreme durability. The iron casing protects the delicate inverter electronics from physical damage and ambient heat. Placing the Ni-CD battery externally is a massive advantage for maintenance team efficiency; it allows for regular safety battery testing and rapid swaps over the fixture’s long service lifespan without unmounting the whole electrical box.
Q3: Is the battery capacity adjustable depending on which tube wattage I use?
A: Yes! The intelligent internal charging circuitry of the HM-2136-3H stabilizes output, but the framework is optimized to allow customized pairings or adjustments based on whether you are running a lower-load T5 13W tube or a heavy-duty T8 58W industrial light bar.
